1. Be on
a top 10 list that includes your product and place it strategically :
What do people do when they're
struggling to find a product to solve a
particular problem ? if you're like me and everybody else, you do a Google
search for best tool or highest-rated product, right ? and when you look
at the page one results you click on the one that says top ten tools or
something like this. So you need to be on those lists. How do you get on those
lists ? well, you contact the journalists or bloggers and you ask to be on
those lists or you create your own and give it to a journalist or a blogger to
to be published on their site.
2. Get Influencers
To Do a Product Review :
It's a great way to reach new customers
and help more people discover your product. It's also very difficult to do. And
mainstream journalists are inundated with press releases and pitches for
stories. So you might want to avoid those people, unless you have personal
relationship with them. So improve your odds by targeting influencers and
bloggers instead. But instead of sending them press releases, reach out with a
personal email and ask them if they would like to see a sample of your product.
If you stand behind your product, they'll stand behind it, they'll give you an
excellent review and they'll drive a ton of traffic to your site.
3. Use
Pinterest :
According to Millward Brown 93% of active
Pinners used Pinterest to plan purchases and 87% bought something because of
Pinterest. Many people therefore use Pinterest to build wishlists. So this is a
place you need your product to be . Because there are future purchases or
activities that pinners want to do, that's why they're pinning these things. Pins
tend to stick around for a long time. So build a presence there and also use
buyable pins to target the appropriate audiences that you need.
4. Facebook
Custom Audiences :
This should be your number one go-to
advertising tool, even if you're a b2b company. Billions of people are on
Facebook and as an advertising platform, you can target many interests
available. So with facebook custom audiences you can advertise your Amazon page,
your store, your service, and best of all you can upload your email database if
you have one and target that entire database on Facebook. Plus, you could
target look-alike audiences so people that look like the people that like you
on Facebook and the email addresses that you upload.
5. Uncrate
Getting your product featured on
uncrate can drive significant sales and get the attention to the press. Uncrate
is a product curation website with a massive loyal following. The people who
are on uncrate don't just like looking at cool products, they like to buy them
too. So if your product is as cool as you think it is, it will make the cut
that I assure you, but do whatever you can to get on this site, that's the
important thing.
6. Blogger
Outreach :
One of the most difficult parts of
starting a new business is promoting a product when you don't have an audience
yet. If you don't have your own community built up at this point, you would have
either to pay to drive traffic to your website or tap into somebody else's audience
until you have your own. So blogger outreach is a great way to build prestige
around your product and get it in front of interested shoppers. So what you
need to do is ask authoritative bloggers to feature or review your product. If
they have an engaged audience that trust their opinion, it could drive a lot of
traffic and it could drive a lot of sales.
7. Use
Instagram :
Instagram has over 400 million active
users and 50% of them are on the platform every single day. If your product or
service is a fit for Instagram, you just have to be there. There are several
ways to use Instagram to promote your product, you can share attractive images
of your products, videos of the product being used, you can run a marketing
campaign, you can work with influential Instagram accounts and you can target
your audience by using Facebook Ads to promote your product.
8. YouTube :
YouTube is a good place to promote
products, it's more difficult but the results are better and because it's now
the second largest search engine behind Google, your video can be seen for years
to come, it’s very SEO friendly. If you have the time and the budget, we highly
recommend you create your own branded channel with your own videos.
9. Run
a Contest Or Sweepstakes :
Contests are an easy and affordable
way to get your company in front of a lot of people. By giving away your
product, you're more likely to get in front of your target audience. We
recommend you run a contest that allows multiple entries, by doing a series of
tasks that give your entrance more ways to talk about your company, but also
increases your odds or their odds of winning the contest, because you give them
more entries.
10. Public
Relations :
PR is a very powerful solution for
most businesses. Just remember, most journalists are inundated with press releases
and pitches for stories. Don't approach them that way. Start off by commenting
on their stories, retweeting them on Twitter, learn what they write about once
you get a response on social media from them, reach out with a personal email
and ask them if you could send them a sample of your product or invite them
review your service.
